EPG ONE Supply Chain Execution Suite: the ERP system for logistics

How can companies design their logistics processes to be integral, sustainable and cost-effective? EPG (Ehrhardt Partner Group) will give the answer to this question at LogiMAT 2024. The experts will be presenting use cases at Stand 8A71 in Hall 8 to show how all areas in the supply chain can be networked to one another with the aid of the EPG ONE Supply Chain Execution Suite. It helps with everything from warehouse management, personnel planning and dispatch processing through to route planning and transport management. In doing so, EPG ONE acts as an ERP system for logistics which controls all processes throughout the supply chain intelligently while also analysing and optimising on a continuous basis. The trade fair appearance focuses on aspects such as the award-winning all-inclusive solution Greenplan for route planning, including the engine, planning and execution, the Workforce Management System (WFM) for personnel planning, the EPG ONE app for digital workflows and the Timesquare supply chain control tower.

The EPG ONE Supply Chain Execution Suite is the all-inclusive solution for networking all logistics departments. Using practice-relevant scenarios, EPG demonstrates how individual solutions in the suite interact with one another to form a smart, efficient, sustainable supply chain.

Scenario 1: Reducing road charges with Greenplan

Route planning plays an increasingly more important role in the context of sustainability and green logistics. That’s why Greenplan is a focus product within EPG ONE: the multi-award-winning all-inclusive solution for route planning and transport management, including Best Product LogiMAT 2023, allows ambitious dispatchers to plan and manage their routes to a high quality standard with optimum efficiency. The Greenplan product line comprises three solutions: Greenplan is the outstanding mathematical algorithm for route planning and serves as the foundation for calculating the best possible rounds. Based on the engine, Greenplan Planning allows users to create both a strategic network plan or optimisations and a quarterly basic route plan. Greenplan Execution can be used to monitor and manage route implementation. It is easy to add new orders to a plan, impose time slot restrictions or make changes to the sequence of stops. Greenplan Execution can be easily upgraded to include the EPG ONE app. As part of the delivery process, the driver app can be used to create digital delivery receipts or perform individual time tracking (proof of delivery). All relevant data from transportation management can then be displayed in TIMESQUARE. Greenplan helps with cost-effective planning, especially in the face of increasing toll costs. Greenplan aims to reduce the number of vehicles and carbon dioxide emissions while remaining efficient. Each time one less truck is used, less carbon dioxide is emitted and, as a result, toll costs are reduced.

Scenario 2: Networking logistics processes

The LFS warehouse management system provides the basis for control, monitoring and optimisation of all warehouse processes. If the flow of goods should suddenly stop or bottlenecks arise at a picking station in an automatic warehouse, for example, LFS reports such incidents immediately to the TIMESQUARE supply chain control tower. This all-in-one dashboard gives users an aggregated overview of the defined processes in the warehouse or in other supply chain areas. In the event of a bottleneck, TIMESQUARE records it, instantly creates a task and then coordinates the task with the WFM workforce management system. WFM provides demand-oriented personnel planning and thus knows to what extent warehouse employees are being used to capacity and which employee with the necessary qualifications is available to resolve the service incident. The task is then assigned to the employee concerned using the EPG ONE app (digital workflows). The required tasks can be quickly and easily created using drag-and-drop in the app’s workflow designer. After eliminating the bottleneck at the picking station, the employee confirms elimination in the EPG ONE app, allowing TIMESQUARE to display the incident as resolved in the next step and prompting LFS to restart the material flow.
